Robop: Robotic Peregrine Falcon

Posted 12 Feb 2003 at 15:05 UTC by steve Share This

Ananova carried a story about the development of a robotic Peregrine Falcon in the Scottish fishing port of Fraserburgh. The robot is designed to scare away seagulls that are becoming a nuisancet to residents. The fiberglass robot can flap its wings, move its head, and can adjust its behaviour based on the weather and time of day. It can also alert its owner when the batteries get low. A few more details can be found in this Daily Record article. This East Lothian Courier article contains a much more in depth story and a photo of Robop.
