Mitre Corporation is working on tiny medical nanobots that can perform surgery inside of the human body. An article in the Independent quotes a Mitre researcher as saying that the first prototypes could be ready next year. The tiny prototype robots are called millibots, are about the size of a grain of salt, have six legs, and about the same processing power as an early model PC.
