A new BBC Article gives a good overview of the work being done on a life-like robotic head being developed by David Hanson at the University of Texas in Dallas. The two kilogram head, called K-Bot, includes camera eyes, 24 mechanical muscles, and a fairly realistic polymer skin. K-Bot can mimic around 28 human facial expressions. The best part - only $400 worth of parts were needed to create K-Bot. A New Scientist article includes a similar K-Bot story. More photos are available at the UTD website.
You could attach a k-bot to your robot and then your robot could "really get ahead!"Your robot could have a start button on the k-bot, then your robot could get a "head start!"
The k-bot could help with navigation and then your robot would have plenty of "headway!"
[insert more head jokes here.]
Aside from me being a smart alec, the head does look cool.
You could attach a k-bot to your robot and then your robot could "really get ahead!"
All those extra routines would add overhead...
