Lucas-Kanade Image Alignment

The Lucas-Kanade image alignment algorithm was introduced over 20 years ago and has been a standard technique in robot vision, face recognition, and other computer imaging applications ever since. A new CMU Robotics Institute technical report provides a nice overview of the alignment algorithm and various extensions to it. The paper was written by researchers at the institute's Vision and Autonomous Systems Center.
