A ZDnet article describes an initiative by Intel to develop reference designs for mobile robot platforms that utilize Intel silicon. The project is designated the Intel Robotics Engineering Task Force and is being led by Jim Butler. Intel also promises new Bayesian neural network software, to be called the Probability Network Library, that will join their Open Source Computer Vision Library.
