CMU and NASA Designing New Mars Rovers

According to a CMU press release, NASA has awarded a 3 year, 3 million dollar grant to the CMU Robotics Institute to help develop and deploy a prototype for a new life-seeking robot. CMU's Molecular Biosensor and Imaging Center has received a $900,000 dollar grant to develop an automated microscope for the robot. The robots will be tested in the arid Atacama region.
