Posted 18 Apr 2001 at 13:44 UTC by steve Share This

Three Aerosondes, autonomous flying robots, are over the Arctic Sea this month collecting data and taking photographs. The data will be used to assess changes in sea ice and weather conditions in places too dangerous to fly manned aircraft. EurekAlert has a press release on the University of Colorado project.
