Flying Dragon Eye Robot

Posted 20 Apr 2001 at 18:29 UTC by steve Share This

UPI is carrying a short story today on the Dragon Eye, a Marine UAV. The Dragon Eye is a small, flying reconnaissance robot so quiet that it's undetectable at a range of 100 meters. A marine on the battlefield can pull it out of a backpack, start it, and throw it into the air. After it's in the air, the marine can point to the desired destination on a wearable computer display and the robot will navigate there and start transmitting back video images. The January Issue of the Marine Corps Gazette has a photo of the Dragon Eye on the cover.

Only $14 Grand each, posted 20 Apr 2001 at 21:52 UTC by The Swirling Brain » (Master)

Wow what a bargain at only $14 thousand a each for a little toy airplane (4k for the plane + 10k for the ground control)! Lets buy a million of them! I wonder if it could be modified to carry a bunch of $100 hammers and drop them on the enemy's head?
