Microchip Technology Inc. has announced some new additions to their PIC18F family of PIC microcontrollers. The two new chips are the PIC18F6520 and PIC18F8520. Both new chips have 32Kb of memory, more I/O pins, and more timers while remaining code-compatible with older 18F chips. Microchip also announced a new $49 demonstration board for the new high pin count chips.
