Custom PC cases have been showing up for a few years but, by way of Boing
Boing, we may have seen the strangest one yet; a 2 meter high, fully
articulated (27 DOF), humanoid
robot made of cardboard. It's a Mini-ITX tower case that just
happens to look like a giant
anime robot. The links are babelfish translations so the English is
a little flakey (don't forget, the 1.65m sword does not leak!).
Were pretty pleased with the enthusiasts.. and businesses that are
starting to adopt our low power platform for robot projects.
I'm just wondering though? Do they have an FCC in Japan that would be
concerned about flamable carboard robots :)
But if they are using that new plastic polyethylene like cardboard this
could be a really tough robot.
Paper cardboard probably isn't all that bad, it makes for a really
cheap robot, as long as it doesn't get wet or catch on fire.
You can then use those parts to cut out all the parts using the tough
plastic cardboard pieces.
