The NSF released an updated version of their Nanotechnology Fact Sheet which summarizes national priorities and goals. It estimates a nanotech budget of $420 million for fiscal 2001. The NSF Nano web site provides a great deal of information on the state of Nanotechnology research and also links to several interesting reports such as The Societal Implications of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, which contains the comments of scientists and political leaders on the potential benifits (and dangers) of nanotechnology and robotics.
