New Microchip PICs

Posted 8 Aug 2003 at 14:03 UTC by steve Share This

Microchip Technology, Inc. seems to be announcing new versions of their PIC18F family with more memory on a regular basis. This month they've announced two new additions with 48Kb or 64Kb of memory in addition to more I/O, additional timers, 16 channels of ADCs, onboard PWM, and up to 10 MIPs of processing power. They've also released a new development board (PDF format) to show off the functionality of the new chips. A nice summary of the specs is available from microcontroller.com. PICs are a favorite of robot builders and everyone likes faster chips with more memory.
