ScanEagle UAV Completes Flight Test

The ScanEagle UAV has completed a 15.2 hour long-endurance autonomous flight test according to a new SpaceDaily article. The vehicle had previously completed long flight tests under remote control by human operators and shorter autonomous test flights. The ScanEagle is a small UAV four feet in length with a ten foot wingspan. It is designed for military surveillance and communication roles. Production models are expected to have an endurance of up to three days and range of 5,000 miles.
