Korea Focuses on Building Robots

A Korea Herald story says the country will make robotics one of 10 high-tech industries to receive major government support. 260 billion won ($226 million USD) will be invested in the industry by 2007. They hope to gain 10% of the market for intelligent household robots and medical robots. They're already manufacturing vacuum cleaner robots that compete with the Roomba and are working on intelligent humanoid robots for the household that will be able to comptete with Japanese models.
