More Martial Arts Robots

Posted 15 Oct 2003 at 13:48 UTC by steve Share This

A year ago we reported to unimpressed readers on a Chinese robot that demonstrated Tai Chi moves. Now, according to a NewScientist.com article, more martial arts robots have shown up at the CEATEC 2003 convention. Fujitsu's Linux-based HOAP-2 Humanoid has learned the Japanese martial art of Sumo as well as the Chinese martial art of Tai Chi. And Morph3, a Chiba Institute of Technology robot, demonstrated Karate. There was also a Slashdot article on this topic yesterday.
