Notes: I'm a member of the Ottawa Robotics Enthusiasts (ORE - www.ottawarobotics.org) group and I've been involved in robotics since 1998. I've built a few robots (kept modifying the same!!). My last project was a 20" tall autonomous paintball robot for the ORE Splat-Bot event (www.ottawarobotics.org/paintball/). My current project is SRX1 which is a general home robot that I will use for AI experiments. For now though I'll be entering it in the trinity firefighting contest. Yeah! I finished 14th in the 2003 Trinity Firefighting Robot competition!

I did succeed in extinguishing the candle and all 3 runs. I even handled the new floor items without a problem! The problem was I wasn't doing this quite fast enough to be more competitive (those darn motors are too slow!).

Oh well, it was fun and lots was learned. On to the development of rev2 for next year. I might try my hand at the expert division.
