Notes:

I am interested in domestic and hobby robotics. I have build three robots to date, two of which were homebrew out of Big Traks and the various computers I had available to me at the time of construction. Most recently I have purchased and put together an ER-1 robot kit by evolution robotics. I homebrewed the computer controller. Two of my robots can be seen at http://aaronandkris.com. I hope to implement concepts I have devised in robotic navigation and sight, as well as distance determination and environment mapping. I am also interested in voice recognition. I expect to be a founding member of a robotics company in the US that produces useful and life-aiding robotic systems around the world. I am a software developer by education and experience, developing multimedia, business, and web systems with databases. I believe that robotic systems will advance when a market leader creates a "commodity" platform and the rest of the industry standardizes on it. This platform will have to be expandable, and useful. I am also a big fan of Marshall Brains' series of essays called "Robotic Nation" at http://www.marshallbrain.com. I believe that they outline, at least in macro terms, what will happen to the US and world economies as computer power, and systems become ever more capable.
