Notes: I am 32 years old and have a degree in Electronic Computer Systems. I have been working as a 'C' programmer, writing ERP systems for various companies in the UK. I have sorted of been interested in robots and AI, but have not really done anything before now. I have now decided to start learning about robotics and AI. I will be getting a lego mindstorms set in a couple of weeks for my birthday, from which I will start learning about robots.

As mentioned in my description I will be getting a lego mindstorms kit for my birthday. I am looking to go beyond using the 'Block' based programming language and maybe use either java or NQC to program the lego robots.

Does anyone know which is the best to use. What advantages does each have
