I am student of informatics at Charles University in Prague. My interest in robotics was sparked by a course I took at the university. Unfortunatelly, it was the only course available.
Since then, I participated in one not very succesfull private project in the Oregon, which gave me lot of insight into problems assotiated with building robots.
I am member of Sirael team, which participated in last three years in Eurobot competition. If you're interested, there are some pictures and thoroughfull description of the robot we used in 2002. The same platform participated also in robotic floor cleaning contest, as can be seen here.

I've been watching this site for some time now, at least its news section, which has been very good, so now I decided to give it a try and create account.
My advice to those connecting to this site: don't use proxy server. I have spent at least half an hour trying to figure out why such simple things as login into my account (not talking about updating stuff) don't work correcty, until it strucked me to turn the proxy off. It's still probably some problem with the site, since all other sites where I have to log in (ie. slashdot) work correcly, but whatever, at least now it works.
