Notes:
I'm a PhD student at the Robotic Intelligence Lab, in the Jaume I University (Castellón, Spain). My work mainly focuses in the autonomous control of robots for manipulation tasks. The idea is to have a robot able to grasp different kinds of unknown 3D objects, but also to perform human daily manipulation tasks such as opening doors and drawers, switching on the light, moving obstacles, etc. This involves a great variety of research topics such as compliant control of manipulators, coupling of force and vision sensor readings, task-oriented visually-guided grasping, dexterous manipulation, etc. My research web page is: http://www.robot.uji.es/lab/plone/Members/mprats I'm also a robotics hobbyist. During my free time, I like to develop simple robots that have nothing to do with manipulation. Some examples can be found on my hobbyist website: http://creatures.uji.es

Hello, this is my first blog entry! My name is Mario Prats, I'm a computer scientist and I'm doing my PhD in the Robotic Intelligence Lab of Jaume I University, in Castellón (Spain). My main research line is robotic grasping and manipulation with visual and force feedback. More details are given in my research webpage.
I also like to develop simple robots during my free time, just for fun and profit! please, take a look at them at my hobbyist website.
