I've probably been interested in robotics before I could walk. Been doing it as a hobby for a while and my dissertation for my MEng Computer Science involved simulating a UAV of my own design. As can be judged from my degree I am quite software inclined especially in different forms of AI and Computer Vision. I have also a good grasp of digital electronics including VLSI and the use of micro controllers. Trying to improve my analog electronics knowledge and have a very basic understanding of Mechanics and FEA. Current project (mostly simulated) include(as of 11Jan09): Delta Parallel Robot applications in mobile robotics. Some areas of interest: Mesh networks PID controllers Simulation Cluster based strategic planning Localization and mapping approaches Acoustic Triangulation for sensory applications Delta Parallel Robots Mobile Robotics Home Automation I welcome discussion/participation in robotics projects, but am local to London, United Kingdom at present.
