raullapeira is currently certified at Master level.
Name: Raul Lapeira Homepage: http://www.roboticspot.com Notes: I was born in 1979 in Madrid, Spain and I have been working in robotics since 1997 when I saw some images from the M.I.T. and the Robotic Institute at the C.M.U., robotics was too cool to let it pass by. During my stay at the Pontificia Universidad of Salamanca I cooperated in a robotics competition project with Professor Carlos Soria (on 1999). I obtained my degree on computer science in September 2002. I am freelance since January 2003. I was awarded the first prize in national robotics competition HISPABOT in 2003 (robot skill category with robot "Bipedo RR"). That year I was invited by Julio Pastor to go to the EUROBOT competition in France as a Speaker and I was offered the great opportunity of collaborating with the Eurobot organisation committee. On July 2003 the ROBOCUP competition took place in Padova (Italy) and I decided to go there to share comments and opinions with ROBOCUP teams from all around the world. In August 2003 I started working at RoboticSpot.com here in Spain to provide professional services and products related with autonomous robotics and software. In 2004 I went to Lisboa (Robocup 2004) as visitor and to Valladolid (Robolid 2004) as speaker. That was the last conference in robotics I lectured, university is cool, but I thought I would be of more use in commercial projects. During the last 4 years (2003-2007) my team at RoboticSpot has been running several projects: some commercial, some for pure research, but mainly we have been specializing in assuring technical feasibility on new Service Robotics prototypes and products. Yet working in Robotics and J2EE... an entertaining and
exciting combination so far :).
We are now running several projects: the Humanoid Group is working in a project, the InfoSpot Group is publishing content from time to time and we are studying a couple of commercial projects that could be marketed in 2007 or 2008... who knows, maybe the next Robotic-hit is in the RoboticSpot workshop (talking about optimistic team projects) :D. 10 Aug 2004 (updated 20 Aug 2004 at 21:25 UTC) »
At last we recovered our english section... we had to wait

RoboticSpot.com
is according to Alexa the most visited
web site about "General Robotics" not only in Spanish, but
in any given language.
Note: Alexa is not a "very accurate tool". But well,... better than nothing :) 8 Dec 2003 (updated 7 Apr 2005 at 22:08 UTC) »
